TEARS, JOY & $1500: SLAY THE STAGE GRAND FINALE ROCKS MONCTON BAR

After an incredible ten week journey, the winner of Slay the Stage 2023 has been crowned.

Caitlan Noel will now go on to open for Canadian Juno Award winning artist Reve on Saturday, September 2nd at Riverfront Park in Moncton, N.B.

She will join Ryan Maynard, and drag queens from around the Maritimes who will perform before the Big Boom singer slays the Moncton stage.

The top 2 singers of the night were Caitlan and Corey, who delivered their strongest and most vocally complex songs on finale night, edging out Cecilia who placed 4th and Luna who captured 3rd.

The finalists gave incredibly powerful performances, with Luna belting her heartfelt rendition of Believer by Imagine Dragons, and Cecilia covering Black Horse & A Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall.

Corey would come back to what he has mastered, creating moments of intimacy between himself and his audience through lesser known but relatable lyrics.

He avoided overuse of his infamous growl while showcasing his ability to ride any staircase of runs with ease and formidable accuracy in both pitch and timing.

What would arguably be the highest note of the entire season was delivered by Caitlan during Chandelier, when the singer went an entire octave higher than the song called for, entirely in her chest voice - a feat not yet seen in the competition.

The vocal sensation would top it off with a mesmerizing and vocally elegant performance of Never Enough, from the Greatest Showman to secure herself the victory.

Singers were also teased all night with the reveal of the Slayer, who would turn out to be none other than Slay the Stage 2017 winner Jasmine Bernier.

Keglers was packed for an incredible evening full of suspense, excitement and celebrations.

Past Slay the Stage contestants eliminated this season were also back for a shot at Moncton's Favourite Singer, a $330 prize won by Daisy - who also happened to win a contestant spot in Slay Academy, starting September 9th!

A performance from local artist and Slay the Stage Host Ryan Maynard would open the show, with his summertime feel-good hit Summer Sun setting the tone for a blockbuster slate of performances to top off the season.

Caitlan Noel and Ryan Maynard will open for Juno Award winner Reve at the "This is Me" themed Pride Festival Concert starting at 6PM in Riverfront Park in Downtown Moncton on September 2nd.
