SLAY THE STAGE KICKS OFF WITH A NEW TWIST

It's safe to say that the high-energy social-singing competition Slay the Stage is definitely back.

A brand new season kicked off last Saturday at Kinz Knights Club & Lounge in Moncton. It was an electric evening with returning judges Jamie Hache, Kelsey Chevarie and Caitlin Taylor - and a very special guest judge, K945's very own Tosh Taylor.

Seventeen singers brought their passion for music and their determination to win, as the show offered up its first twists of the season.

The singing competition now features one contestant who is not playing for the grand prize, which started the season sitting at $1500 (also a surprise).

The Secret Slayer must be voted out in a majority vote by the contestants. Each week they remain in the contest, $50 will get removed from the 1st Place pot, and given to the Secret Slayer. They can earn up to $500 from the Grand Prize if they remain undetected throughout the entire show.

The contestants will have to figure out who they can trust, and who is coming for them. During interviews, contestants dished on their best guesses, and who they believe is the Secret Slayer. One of them is lying. Can you guess who it is? Take a look at the Weekly Recap Video and see if you can figure it out!

With paranoia about the Secret Slayer running rampant already, singers will soon have to figure out who they can trust and who they cannot. All this while trying to become the winner of up to $1450 in cash, and become an opening artist at the Riverfront Park River of Pride Festival on August 31st!

Slay the Stage continues Saturday June 1st, where the Secret Slayer will sabotage six singers, forcing them to sing without the words. Who will survive? Who will be eliminated? Week 2 of Slay the Stage continues at Kinz Knights Club & Lounge Saturday June 1st, at 6PM.
