SLAY THE STAGE 2024 ANNOUNCED

It's a new year, and there's a new opportunity for singers to showcase their vocals. Slay the Stage is back!

Dubbed Slay the Stage: Into the Fire, the new thrill-ride singing competition will take place at Kinz Knights Club & Lounge, a brand new piece of nightlife along Downtown Moncton's Main Street strip.

Last year's Slay the Stage winner Caitlan Noel got to meet pop star Reve, and open for the singer at the Riverfront Park Pride Festivals, one of Moncton's biggest shows of the year.

Alongside the chance to open for a new mystery artist, contestants will enjoy a shot at new prizes, as well as the $1000 Grand Prize given by the judges.

It's a whole new show, which means new twists and turns. Contestants and audience members can expect to see familiar faces however, as the show will be hosted by local artist Ryan Maynard, and feature the same panel of judges as last year: Caitlin Taylor, Jamie Hache, and Kelsey Chevarie.

"What makes our show special is the unpredictability. You never know what's going to happen at Slay," said Ryan. "I'm excited to see what singers will bring to the table to top last year's show."

Amongst last year's abundance of twists, an anonymous character called the "Slayer" revealed surprising twists each week. The individual pulling the strings turned out to be Slay the Stage 2017 winner, Jasmine Bernier.

"We are back, and we're looking for singers who want something exciting to look forward to each weekend, and the chance to experience something amazing," Kelsey added.

"We just hope singers are ready to be thrown into the fire," said Jamie.

With the new theme, many may wonder what that could mean for singers who take part.

When asked what the new concept for the show might entail, Caitlin Taylor simply said, "you'll just have to wait and see."

The new singing competition will be the third season in the series' history. Most recently, the crew held a livestream singing competition, the first of its kind, hosted during the holidays, won by Corey Day.

To participate in Slay the Stage, singers have to be 19+ and a resident of New Brunswick, able to travel to the show every Saturday. Professional band members (with weekly paid gigs) are unable to apply.

Singers interested in applying can do so by clicking here. The show starts May 25th at Kinz Knights Club & Lounge.
